PUBLIC TOOLS
Our public tools map investments across the climate landscape to better understand critical funding gaps. All our public tools are free and accessible for everyone, funded by philanthropic contributions, built on open-source code, and updated quarterly.
Our public tools map climate transactions across philanthropy and traditional investment to illuminate capital ebbs and flows, relevant dealflow or aligned co-investors, compare and contrast investment types and mechanisms. All our public tools are meant for discovery for all, open sourced, and updated quarterly. We are currently building a phase two version to allow more interaction, honed searches and example use case pathways. Please reach out if you’d like to learn more.
Climate Finance Tracker - U.S.
The CFT-U.S. is the first visually searchable ecosystem of over $350B in private investment and philanthropic grants to over 6,000 US-based climate relevant companies and nonprofits.
In the next decade, trillions of dollars in investment will be made in climate solutions. How can we ensure this capital is distributed effectively and equitably? To help inform their decisions, climate funders will need tools such as this to consider the big picture, spot gaps, redundancies, and opportunities, and work together to secure our future.
The open-source framework for creating these trackers is being developed by Vibrant Data Labs with a growing ecosystem of collaborators. Get in touch with VDL at info@vibrantdatalabs.org.

Climate Co-Investor Tracker - U.S.
The Climate Co-Investor Tracker inverts the data from the Climate Finance Tracker (so the data points are funders rather than recipients) to highlight patterns of co-investments to US-based climate mitigation and adaptation companies. Investors are linked if they share investment in at least one company together. Colored clusters are groups of investors that co-invest more than would be expected by chance.
The climate crisis is one that cannot be solved in silos. Understanding and building upon the inherent interconnectivity of solutions their dependencies is foundational to our collective success. De-risking their own investments but also de-risking the whole solution system at large.
