WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to increase the impact of climate finance by supporting funders and field-builders with open-source data tools that empower evidence-based decisions. We utilize data and a rigorous scientific process to analyze, contextualize, and make sense of the complexity of the climate solutions space. 

Our team has a background in ecology, network theory, and data science, including advanced research on food webs within a given ecosystem.

This ecological background influences our understanding of and interaction with the climate finance space. We view it as a highly interrelated ecosystem. Our goal is to increase the collective impact of the ecosystem of climate funders.

Our methodology combines machine learning, natural language processing, and computational statistics with evidence-based inquiry to transform complex data into accessible, visual, and searchable formats and to expose crucial funding gaps across multiple types of capital.

We are a team of curious, collaborative, inquisitive individuals who care deeply about making a positive impact with our collective skills and experience. Our style of work is defined by the following guiding principles:

Question the question. We actively challenge assumptions and recognize the power of asking the right questions. We proudly decline business that does not value this level of rigor.

Stay curious. We understand the importance of having a plan, while also acknowledging that curiosity cannot be scheduled. We create space for exploration and new ideas.

Radical mutualism. We believe in the power of the collective and recognize that our interests are best served by being generous. No ego. No need for ownership.

Choose optimism. We approach opportunities with enthusiasm, while also understanding that they may require tradeoffs. We maintain a positive outlook while being realistic.

Be transparent. We value openness and honesty. With our data sets and our relationships, we withhold judgment and ensure all information is on the table.
